This is an entry for a contest happening at the website Seventh sanctum. It's a random generator website, I go there sometimes when I need inspiration. The contest is, you draw your concept of a character from a randomly generated description and the best entry wins a $30 amazon.com voucher!
You're allowed two entries, this is my first:
-- Victoria Alyce Valentine --
This antisocial magical girl has slanted red eyes. Her neck-length, straight, silky hair is the color of dark chocolate, and is worn in a businesslike style. She has a graceful figure. She has fire powers that are activated by chants. Her ominous, uncomplicated outfit is mostly red and orange.
I even made a mock series for her!
....
However, I love her concept and the concept of my other entry so much I wanna turn it into a real series!
--- Full view is GOOD ---
EDIT - Lines suckified, so I tried smoothing them, just until I get Streamline working.
Though the contest is long past, I'm trying to make sure I comment on works that were entered when I can (along with the later contests).
You did a good job of working with the description, but also doing a bit more - she's got a unique look to her that's not really any "kind" of style. Toss in the rather crazy expression, and you've drawn quite a character!
I've been browsing thru the submissions in that contest. either the artwork that ppl have submitted are either obviously by professionals or obviously by amateurs. Yours is the first to jump off the screen at me and say 'this person has potentiaal'
I like where your style is as well as where it's headed. and while i'm not to hot (sic) on the name you chose (try something latin imo) i do like the series idea which sounds pretty fun!
